After we settled in a bit to a new routine in our family, I got the itch to "clean house". I didn't want the toys piling up in my great room, though I HAD said that in the beginning of our marriage to my husband. I am one of those that I want my great room to look like a room to entertain, NOT like romper room. So, I slowly moved a bunch of toys down to the play area of the basement. We then got some hand-me-down furniture down there, and it became a suido playroom. We talked about finishing it soon, but my husband is not the type to leave anything open ended. He bought the supplies that week! The walls were built, the paint went up, the trim is in the process, the carpet is being bought this week and installed no later than Saturday. We have a few little odds and ends we want to do, I will be taking my time decorating it...and walla (how DO you spell that?!) it will be done! I can't believe it! Most of the toys in my great room will go down there, and I'll keep a few goodies up here for my daughter to play with. I can't even wait! It's one of the only things I look forward to these days. My projects keep me feeling like I have a purpose and something to look forward to "tomorrow". I'll post a few pics of the process, and when it's complete, I'll post the finished photos as well.

Looks awesome! And really...you have to pay more taxes if you put a ceiling down there? Lame! What a great space for Claire, you, daddy and friends or family to play!
Oh, and the spelling is: voila! And one you didn't ask for: "pseudo" playroom. :)
Love you!!!!

ha, i just found this comment. i must have been exhausted...because now that you point those spellings out, i knew that.
and yes, if it's finished (means ceiling and all) then it counts as square footage, and square footage means taxes.
